Background

Although the name SANACC is relatively new the organisation has been in existence for a number of years and until 2008 was referred to as SANA Competitions Section. The Competitions Section was an autonomous body within SANA and when these bodies identified that they would need to convert independently to companies limited by guarantee the Competitions Section changed its name to Scottish Anglers National Association Competition Clubs Ltd (SANACC). The Competitions Section itself had evolved from The Scottish National Angling Clubs' Association (SNACA) having taken on most of the purpose and constitution of that august body after it joined with The Scottish Anglers Association to form SANA.
