Ireland took the gold medal at the Rivers International which was held on the Rivers Tummell and Tay on Friday 19th June.  Their total of 45 placings was six clear of Scotland who had 51 placings.  England were third with 57 and Wales were fourth with 61.

England had the best of session one and led at the end of the session with 8 placings from four firsts and a fourth.  Ireland were three placings adrift on 11 from one first, three seconds and a fourth.  Scotland lay third with 14 placings from two seconds, two thirds and a fourth and Wales were in fourth place with 17 placings from three thirds and two fourths.

Ireland moved to the lead in session two where their 10 placings from three firsts, a third and a fourth put them on 21 placings.  England dropped to second where their 15 placings from one first, one second and three fourths put them two behind on 23 placings.  Scotland remained in third where their 13 placings from one first, one second, two thirds and a fourth put them on 27 placings.  Wales remained in fourth where their 18 placings from one second and four fourths put them on 35 placings.

In session three Ireland maintained their lead with 12 placings from two firsts, one second and two fourths which put them on 33.  Scotland were the top team in that session and moved into second where their 10 placings from two firsts, two seconds and a fourth put them on 37.  England dropped to third where their 16 placings from a second, two thirds and two fourths put them on 39.  Wales had 16 placings from one first, one third and three fourths which put them on 51

In the final session Wales were the top team with 10 placings from three firsts, one third and a fourth which put them in last place with 61.  Ireland maintained their lead where their 12 placings from one first, two seconds, one third and a fourth put them on the gold medal total of 45.  Scotland finished on the silver medal with their 14 placings from one first, one second, one third and two fourths which gave them a final tally of 51.  England remained in third spot where their 18 placings from one second and four fourths put them on 57.

The top individual was Ciaran Reilly with 6 placings from 12 fish and 571.3 points.  Ross McKeen of Scotland who also had six placings was second.  Ross had 11 fish and 560 points.  Scott Hamilton of Scotland was third with seven placings from his 14 fish and 715.9points
