Heat 10 - 26th May 2019 Harray
Harray had proved to be rock hard in the days preceding this National Heat, but a change in wind direction to the SE helped improve matters, and the weigh in had more fish caught than expected.
All but two of the 10 boats headed north at the 10am start, with Decca, Bankhead and Tenston the favoured areas. There was a smattering of olives hatching but nothing seemed to stimulate the trout to feed early on, probably too cold, but they did come on in the afternoon.
Top rod for the day was Stewy Leslie with 10 fish for 7lb 4ozs, great angling on a tough day. Stewy fished Kirk Bay, Neds, Bochan, and Road Shore for his basket. Runner up was Sandy McConnachie with 9 for 7lb, fishing Bankhead, Biggings and Nistaben. Jimmy Grant took third spot with 9 for 6lb 1oz, which included the best fish of the day going, 2lb 3ozs. The other qualifiers on the day were Ken Kennedy, Erlend Hutchison, Raymond Miller, John Leask, James Harcus, James Bews and Brian Forman.
The other qualifiers on the day were Ken Kennedy, Erlend Hutchison, Raymond Miller, John Leask, James Harcus, James Bews and Brian Forman.
So all roads lead to Menteith or Lintrathen for the next round, tight lines to all who qualified today. KK
